To begin your journey, I will conduct an in-depth consultation with you to find out who you are, and what "makes you tick". I will want to understand both your short-term and long-term goals. I often find that many people think they know what type of business or industry they want to become involved in, but once we go through a consultation, they realize that it does not align with their goals. In this one moment, people then realize that I have saved them an incredible amount of time, money, and heartache from having to learn the hard way. Don't you owe yourself the same peace-of-mind ?
THE HUNT
The next phase of your journey is to begin the "hunt" for the right franchised business. With over 3000 franchise opportunities, this may seem like a daunting task. As your franchise consultant, I will conduct the franchise search on your behalf.
I have resources that help me pre-screen franchisors to ensure we are only searching for franchises with the best track records, and can provide you the best opportunity for success.
At this point, I understand what is most important to you, so I will refine the business search to focus on franchises and industries that will be best suited to your needs. I will then present you with several franchise options and let you choose which franchises resonate with you and that you'd like to spend more time looking at.
STAYING THE COURSE
Now that we have determined the franchises that you want to learn about, we will begin to do our due diligence with each franchisor.
At this stage you will be provided Franchise Disclosure Documents from each franchisor, which outlines the costs and obligations of both you and the franchisor should enter business together. You will be engaging in discussion with, not only the franchisor, but the franchisees. As part of this evaluation, we will also consider the demographics of your area and local competition. I will be guiding you on how to approach your conversations with franchisors and the types of questions you should begin asking at each step of the process. I will be your advocate to ensure that you are getting the proper information you need so that you can make a sound business decision.
I will also provide you much needed resources at this stage. A majority of my career has been spent working for some major franchise companies, so I have a lot of connections within the franchise industry, which will prove to be very valuable to you. Once you decide which franchise you'd like to invest in, I will help to set you up with funding providers and legal advisers.
BECOMING THE BOSS
After much consideration and self-reflection, you have found the franchise that is right for you. At this point you may need to complete some steps with the franchisor for final approval by their executive team. I will prepare you and help you with this final stage of getting your approval so that you can officially become a franchise owner. Also, there will be a final franchise contract to review, so I will provide you with resources for legal counsel.
